Priv.-Doz. Prof. h. c. Dr. med. habil. Salmai Turial will be stepping down from his position as Chief Physician of the Department of Paediatric Surgery, Paediatric Traumatology and Paediatric Urology at Magdeburg University Hospital on 15 August 2025.

In her inaugural lecture, ‘Making the Cut: About MANtorship and Women Leading the Future of Neurosurgery,’ Dr. Vanessa Magdalena Swiatek will address the role of women in neurosurgery and the importance of targeted support on 1 August 2025. The talented physician qualified as a professor at the age of only 28 and, with over 25 publications to her name, is already considered one of the most promising figures in her field. The event will take place at 5 p.m. in Lecture Hall 7 of the Medical Faculty of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.
